IT’IS Hosts New Pediatric Model THALIA V1.0
September 22, 2026We congratulate the IT’IS Foundation on releasing THALIA V1.0 through its Virtual Population (ViP) library. Developed by researchers affiliated with the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, EPFL, and partner institutions, this high-resolution whole-body computational model of a 10-month-old girl includes 442 segmented tissue compartments. The model was validated through expert review and comparison with age-matched anatomical data and provides a detailed resource for computational studies involving infant anatomy.
IT'IS Foundation provides a Sim4Life-compatible version of THALIA V1.0 in which the anatomical structures are pre-tagged for material assignment using the IT'IS Tissue Properties Database, reducing the steps needed to set up simulations.
