Sim4Life.lite Student Competition 2024

The Sim4Life.lite Student Competition 2024 has been created to recognize outstanding work in numerical simulations in a variety of research areas. Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students are encouraged to enter the competition by submitting their original simulation projects developed with our online platform Sim4Life.lite.
Who can participate?
Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students
How to participate?
Each participant must:
• define a unique problem that can be solved numerically with our multiphysics platform Sim4Life.lite
• create a free Sim4Life.lite account by filling out the form here
• log in to the Sim4Life.lite account at https://sim4life-lite.io/ page to start modeling and performing simulations in Sim4Life.lite to solve the unique problem
• generate a short report based on this template
• share the simulation project in Sim4Life.lite by tagging it with “Simulation Competition 24” by 31 October 2024, 23:59h Swiss local time
Successful submission of a project will be confirmed by email.
Evaluation criteria
The submitted projects will be evaluated by a panel of experts according to the following criteria:
• scientific value / importance
• originality / complexity
• appropriate use of Sim4Life.lite modeling tools, solvers, analysis, Python notebook, and libraries
• proper application of methodology, verification and validation, and confidence intervals, and recognition of limitations
• quality of reporting in terms of clarity, completeness, and presentation, including visuals
Winners
The winners will be notified individually via email between 1 and 15 of December 2024, and prizes will be officially announced by ZMT thereafter.

• Student: US$ 3,000
• Institute: One Permanent Sim4Life Academic License
2nd Prize
• Student: US$ 2,000
• Institute: One 3-year Sim4Life Academic License
3rd Prize
• Student: USD$ 1,000
• Institute: One 1-year Sim4Life Academic License
